Defying Expectations

If you ever want to switch things up or just drive someone insane you should always try and do something unexpected, this is especially true in RPGs. If you ever start feeling like the GM knows exactly what you are going to do or if you feel like they are trying to make you do something do the opposite, trust me it'll drive them nuts! Also it will make the game a bit more interesting instead of fighting every time you come across someone why not try talking instead?
I once was in a mini session where I came across two thugs who were clearly coming after me so that they could kill me, I walked in and they said something along the lines of "We're going to have a little discussion with you" while holding clubs and looking menacingly so my character instead of attacking/defending replied "All right then. Lets talk" Pulled out a chair sat down and put his feet up on the table. Lets just say I really threw the GM and the character off with that move.

What situations have you guys come across in an RPG where your character did something completely unexpected?

Up next: One way or another you will fight me!

Attack of Opportunity- this generally happens when someone tries to move past you during combat or you catch them trying to do something secret etc. etc. basically its like a surprise attack you can make against someone.

Unarmed Strike- Basically using punches and kicks instead of weapons.

Initiative- A roll that determines who goes first.

Feint- A move used to distract the enemy into thinking you are doing something else. Basically you are lying to them about what you are about to do.

i could be wrong, but wouldnt that "unarmed strike" be more of a grapple check?

No probs man, This is technically a made up system which is why some of the wording we use and terms may not always line up. Glad you are enjoying it!

i remember using the spell silent image to make a continuous blinding effect on weak enemies for half a session. it wrapped around their eyes as a black cloth. without their sight my crew got to loot a party that was meant to capture us. after that the spell was changed retroactively by the gm.
