The chase scene

I've noticed in my past campaigns there isn't usually a lot of chase sequences, usually because most players like to go after the enemy and try and kill him no matter how good an idea that is.
Now maybe I've watched too many episodes of Scooby-Doo but I seriously think a good chase scene can be a lot of fun you end up needing to be a bit more clever and use some skills you may not always use and it could end up being more exciting than just trying to kill the dude. So next time you are in a battle that you may not win, put on your favorite chase scene music and try using those full move actions and acrobatics checks.

Stealth- a check to try and hide whether from the guards or your party members.

Acrobatics- a check needed when doing any kind of jumping or anything more complex than running or walking.

Up next! That's why I need acrobatics!

Who doesn't love a good chase scene? Making it as cinematic, action-packed and awesome as possible tends to suck my players in very quickly.

Personally, I think the GM should be very flexible when it comes to the players wanting to add flavour to the chase. If the player is on the lookout for a fire escape, why not have one appear behind the next corner? If the player wants to try to lose the enemies in a crowd, there might just be a marketplace in the vicinity - although the player might consider snatching a disguise somewhere, as the pursuers might have had a good look at him before. If the cornered player wants to try to do a backflip over his or her pursuers, I say, go for it. Of course, the more complex and hard on the skills the trick, is, the less likely it is to succeed, but isn't that kinda half of the fun?

To paraphrase Darths and Droids: "That is a spectacularly bad plan."
"But at least it's spectacular!"

Are two capital letters in the alt text intentional?

I actually took a few of my current character's talents and skills expressly with chases in mind. It hasn't come up once yet, but if it does... Well, it'll end the same way all our sessions end: shooting enemies to death and then blowing them up, but I'd be sniping them in the back of the head this time instead of the side.
