Before I say anything else can I just say how much I LOVE this screenshot of Thor?!? (See Panel 7) I actually found this while working on a previous strip, and about died of laughter when I saw it! I decided that I NEEDED to use it for something so I stored it away, and then low and behold I was able to use it on a different strip! XD
In this strip we find that Blake spends probably a bit too much of his life gaming... A lot of gamers I know will spend time working on their character builds, but spending 3 weeks straight is a little ridiculous... although I suppose if you want a ridiculous character like Thor 3 weeks is nothing...
Movespeed- This is how fast your character can move, average movespeed is 30 feet per round, most small characters can only move 20 feet and some characters can move really fast (such as monks)
Round- a round is the measurement used in RPG's to determine various things like combat turns, spell duration, etc. An average round is about 6 seconds, but depending on how slow players are it could last a lot longer in real time.
Combat Feat- differet skills and abilities you can get for your character, you normally get them every other level.
Funny... I have a friend who literally spends weeks making D&D builds just like that guy.
*psst! He doesn't have a girlfriend either! Coincidence...?*
Great job, as always!
Wonderfully Ironic that the GM was the one who was chastising him for spending too much time on a game. It is rare that a GM won't be putting at least three times as much time into a game as everyone else at the table. And this GM has created an entirely new world inspired by various ancient norse mythologies. I suspect Thor isn't the only one with too much free time.
the difference between blake spending 3 weeks on a character and the DM spending 3 weeks on a dungeon, is thats how long it takes a DM to do that. characters can be built in a MUCH shorter amount of time, so spending more is excess.
There is always a balance, I know some GMs who spend WAY too much time prepping stuff and also people who spend WAY too much time building characters, In general though it does take far less time to build a character unless of course you are going for a crazy Thor build :-P
