First question for everyone. We're planning on doing some redesign to the site here, and we're wondering if anyone uses the little drop-down menu to navigate the archives. We're contemplating getting rid of it, but don't want to if people use it a lot.

We may have already talked about this, but sunder doesn't seem to get used much. It ruins the loot, so it's never seemed like a good idea. And as a GM ice airways felt bad about the idea of ruining a player's equipment.

Hmm...

I rarely use the drop down navigation menu - it shouldn't bother me too much to lose it, but it isn't a problem if it remains.

I am used to trying to destroy my opponent's gear from other RPGs, where there is no assumption you'll be able to loot the body (or at least that you'll be able to keep it for long). If the PCs not only expect such things but insist on it, yeah, that has to be factored into designing and running the adventure.

If on the other hand its just a habit that isn't integral to them enjoying the game, I'd think it would be good to shake things up. Start having them encounter things where as long as they take out the oppositions equipment, the battle is appropriately challenging. If however the players insist on trying to maximize their rewards, they will have to really step up... and if they do then to the victors go the spoils.

Granted my track record as GM makes such advice dubious at best. XD

I've used it occasionally, but if I'm bothering to hunt down a specific strip it's no hardship to just click my way to the Archives page. Go ahead and axe it if it clashes with the new design.

I think the 40K games have rules on sundering... Now that I'm playing a Space Marine, looting isn't much of a concern, so we're free to explode, burn, tear, cut, implode, smash, and/or crush anything that stands in our way, or particularly close to our way, or is out of our way but looked particularly heretical from a distance. The only rules we've had to use for that, besides combat, was a Feat of Strength to force open a door aboard a space ship.
